Dancing at Lughnasa

Dancing at Lughnasa

The Mundy sisters eke a living in 1930’s Donegal,
experiencing deprivation and depression.
“But they also experience happiness and great, great
joy. They want to dance both in defi ance and delight.
They offer us evidence that the ‘economic climate’ of
that time is not the whole story. A more comprehensive
story resides in the inner life, the life of the spirit. And
that life, whatever its diffi culties, is unquenchable.”
